Introduction


This Great Rail Tour of the Railways of the Isle of Man departed from Heysham via IOM Ferry to douglas where stayed for 5 nights. On Day 2 we took a trip on the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey then transferred to the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a trip to Snaefell Summit. On return to Laxey we visited the fanous Laxey Wheel before returning to Douglas. On Day 3 we visited St. Johns, Peel and Ramsey by road before travelling back to Douglas no the Manx Electric Railway. On Day 4 we took a trip on the IOM Steam Railway from Douglas to Port Erin. From here we travelled road to Castletown (via the Calf of Man to visit the House of Keys. We then travelled back to douglas by train. Day 5 was a free day so we travelled up to Groudle by MER Tram then visited the Grodle Glen raiway for a ride to Sea Lion Rocks. On return to Douglas we had a ride on the famous Horse Tramway before visiting the MER Museum. On Day six we bade farewell to the Isle of Man took the IOM Ferry back to Heysham.
